The Flash movie bumps up its release by one week

For a while, fans were wondering whether or not The Flash would ever be released after the various Ezra Miller controversies over the past year. Not only is the movie still on track to hit theaters next summer, but Warner Bros. has also actually bumped up the release of The Flash by one week.

The Flash was slated for a June 23, 2023 release, but the movie will now hit theaters on June 16, 2023. This will put a little more space between The Flash and Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, which is set to hit theaters on June 30th. The month is shaping up to be a big one for movies, as Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse will drop on June 2nd, followed by Transformers: Rise of the Beasts on June 9th.

Much of The Flash is still being kept under wraps, but the film is expected to find Barry Allen (Ezra Miller) travelling back in time to prevent the murder of his mother, which brings unintended consequences to his own timeline. In addition to Miller, The Flash also stars Kiesey Clemons as Iris West, Sasha Calle as Supergirl, Ron Livingston as Henry Allen, and Ben Affleck and Micheal Keaton both reprising their roles of Bruce Wayne/Batman.

After months of scandalous headlines and deeply troubling behaviour, Ezra Miller finally agreed to seek professional help back in August and offered an apology. “Having recently gone through a time of intense crisis, I now understand that I am suffering complex mental health issues and have begun ongoing treatment,” Miller said. “I want to apologize to everyone that I have alarmed and upset with my past behavior. I am committed to doing the necessary work to get back to a healthy, safe and productive stage in my life. The Flash has gone through many release dates, going back to the first announced date of March 23, 2018. It then skipped through several potential dates in 2022 before finally settling (we hope) on June 16, 2023.
