Ricci (Yellowjackets, The Matrix Resurrections, The Addams Family) will lead a cast that also is set to feature Billy Magnussen (No Time to Die, The Many Saints of Newark) as the Joker, and Justin Hartley (This Is Us) as Bruce Wayne/Batman. The series is developed by Eli Horowitz, who previously worked on the scripted audio series Homecoming.

“When listeners meet Harley, she’s Dr. Harleen Quinzel, a gifted psychologist at Arkham Asylum in Gotham City determined to help the patients her colleagues have written off,” reads the official synopsis for the series. “But her dad is sick, and in need of an expensive life-saving operation Harleen can’t afford. So when she meets ‘Patient J,’ a unique criminal who seems to have a strange power over everyone but her, Harleen makes a fateful decision: to use her relationship with J to get what she needs, leading both of them down a dangerous path that will change their lives forever.”

This will be Spotify’s second partnership with Warner Bros. and DC following their multi-year agreement to produce audio content and will follow up the hit series Batman: Unburied, which quickly made its way to the top of Spotify’s podcast charts in 17 markets. No official release information for Harley Quinn and The Joker: Sound Mind has been released as of yet.
