As Warner Bros attempts to shake up their whole content creation with DC films, only some schedule shifts are happening with Sony Pictures, according to Deadline. One of their biggest moves is pushing the Adam Driver sci-fi actioner, 65, back to the same weekend as Shazam: Fury of the Gods. The studio has faith that the movie will be able to compete with the DC superhero and gets pushed back so the latest Scream film can perform as best as can.
The plot synopsis for 65 reads, “After a catastrophic crash on an unknown planet, pilot Mills (Driver) quickly discovers he’s actually stranded on Earth…65 million years ago. Now, with only one chance at rescue, Mills and the only other survivor, Koa (Ariana Greenblatt), must make their way across an unknown terrain riddled with dangerous prehistoric creatures in an epic fight to survive. Sam Raimi produces. Scott Beck and Bryan Woods wrote A Quiet Place.“
Another movie that’s getting its schedule changed around is a George Foreman biopic. The film is set to change its release from its original date of March 31 next year to April 28. That film is being adjusted to avoid the competition og going up against such tracking hits like Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves, UAR’s A Good Person, and Focus Features’ A Thousand and One to a weekend where there’s Lionsgate’s feature take of Judy Blume novel Are You There God? It’s Me, Margaret.
The plot synopsis for the as of yet untitled George Foreman movie reads, “The untitled George Foreman biopic follows the boxer’s life and times, from Olympic Gold medalist to World Heavyweight champion, the Rumble in the Jungle fight with Muhammad Ali in Zaire, to finding his faith, retiring and becoming a preacher. When financial hardship hits his family and church, he steps back in the ring and regains the championship at age 45, the oldest heavyweight champion in boxing history.”
George Tillman Jr. is directing from a script written by him and Frank Baldwin. The movie is executive produced by Foreman and Wendy Williams. The movie stars Khris Davis, Jasmine Mathews, John Magaro, Sullivan Jones, Lawrence Gilliard Jr., with Sonja Sohn and Forest Whitaker.
