Sonic Frontiers is the next big new entry in the long-running franchise, which seems to be taking the series in somewhat of a new direction. Sega is now beginning to show more of it in action, as it has just released a new trailer for it that reveals more of its big “open zone,” as Sega calls it.

The teaser is still very much a teaser, as its name implies, and only has around 30 seconds of gameplay. But it does give more of a peek at its bigger world. Sonic can be seen solving small puzzles, attacking enemies with flashy moves, and traversing its vast landscape. It then ends with a mysterious word in an alien language.

More Sonic Frontiers information will come in June, as IGN is scheduled to cover the game further for IGN First. It’s also possible that it’ll show up at Summer Game Fest Live, given how its last trailer premiered during Geoff Keighley’s The Game Awards.

The trailer didn’t have an update to its holiday 2022 release window. However, it’s still seemingly scheduled to come out on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Nintendo Switch.
