“Let Me Be Great (feat. Angélique Kidjo)”



Sampa the Great é um compositor, rapper e cantor da Zâmbia. Ela morou na Austrália por anos, mas voltou para a Zâmbia em 2020, pouco antes da pandemia. Quando ela não podia viajar, ela decidiu fazer seu próximo álbum lá em Lusaka. O álbum se chama Como Acima, Assim Abaixo, e foi produzido pela Mag44. Neste episódio, Sampa the Great e Mag44 detonam a música de encerramento “Let Me Be Great”, que conta com a voz da lendária cantora da África Ocidental Angélique Kidjo, vencedora de 5 Grammys e uma das TEMPOAs pessoas mais influentes. Eu conversei com Angélique Kidjo em seu estúdio em Paris, e conversei com Sampa the Great e Mag44 em Lusaka. Juntos, os três contam a história de como fizeram “Let Me Be Great”.

Dave Jenks is an American novelist and Veteran of the United States Marine Corps. Between those careers, he’s worked as a deckhand, commercial fisherman, divemaster, taxi driver, construction manager, and over the road truck driver, among many other things. He now lives on a sea island, in the South Carolina Lowcountry, with his wife and youngest daughter. They also have three grown children, five grand children, three dogs and a whole flock of parakeets. Stinnett grew up in Melbourne, Florida and has also lived in the Florida Keys, the Bahamas, and Cozumel, Mexico. His next dream is to one day visit and dive Cuba.
