“Alma Egoísta”

Sudan Archives é cantor, compositor, produtor e violinista. Ela cresceu em Cincinnati antes de se mudar para LA. Sua música foi chamada de “visceralmente linda” pelo The Guardian, e “deslumbrante” pela Pitchfork, que lhe deu o prêmio de ‘Melhor Nova Música’. Este ano, ela está lançando seu segundo álbum, e uma das faixas dele é “Selfish Soul”. Ela me contou que a ideia dessa música começou quando ela pediu ao namorado, James (que é o rapper Nocando) para raspar a cabeça dela. Cortar o cabelo a fez refletir sobre toda a sua história capilar, desde as experiências que teve quando criança, até as questões culturais e raciais que historicamente cercam os cabelos das mulheres negras.

Dave Jenks is an American novelist and Veteran of the United States Marine Corps. Between those careers, he’s worked as a deckhand, commercial fisherman, divemaster, taxi driver, construction manager, and over the road truck driver, among many other things. He now lives on a sea island, in the South Carolina Lowcountry, with his wife and youngest daughter. They also have three grown children, five grand children, three dogs and a whole flock of parakeets. Stinnett grew up in Melbourne, Florida and has also lived in the Florida Keys, the Bahamas, and Cozumel, Mexico. His next dream is to one day visit and dive Cuba.
