Fuica Film Pictures and 8Cube have announced that their sinister horror thriller Camping Trip will be getting a digital release in the UK, the US, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand on August 16th. Along with this announcement comes the unveiling of the film’s trailer, which you can see in the embed above, and poster, which can be found at the bottom of this article.

The English-language debut of Spanish filmmakers Leonardo and Demian Fuica, Camping Trip has the following synopsis:

In the summer of 2020, two couples decide to go on a COVID era camping trip after months of being in lockdown. The freedom of nature and the company of their best friends offer the group a rare sense of normality, but though secluded, they’re not alone. Nearby, during a botched drop off, two goons decide to go rogue; inadvertently, implicating the campers. What started as a fun-filled vacation quickly turns into a test of loyalty and survival. Suddenly the pandemic is the least of their worries.

Leonardo Fuica also stars in the film alongside Caitlin Cameron, Alex Gravenstein, Hannah Forest Briand, Ben Pelletier, Jonathan Vanderzon, Michael D’Amico, Gabriel Desjardins, Miguel Fuica, and Irma Adriazola.

Leonardo Fuica provided the following statement:

I’m delighted that our film will be having a multi-territory release after a great festival run. I think people vividly remember what it was like during that first wave of Covid and how it changed us all. Humans in these extreme situations can do a lot of things and not always good – Camping Trip is our exploration of that.”

A press release notes that “shooting was forced to halt for a day when a scene sounded so real to a nearby member of the public, the police were called!”
