Actor Sean Gunn has gone into detail about his two roles in the upcoming DC Studios animated series Creature Commandos.

Who does Sean Gunn play in Creature Commandos?

As part of an interview with Comic Book Movie, Gunn delved into his two Creature Commando roles — the characters of Weasel and G.I. Robot. For Weasel, Gunn said that fans will “learn a little more” about the character.

“I love that project,” Gunn said. “The scripts are so good and we’ve already been doing a little recording which is fun. I can hint and tease that we’re going to learn a little more about Weasel which is going to be interesting.”

On the other had, Gunn explained that he has a great deal of love for the character of G.I. Robot — a robot who’s sole goal is to kill Nazis.

“I just love G.I. Robot so much. He’s driven by one thing and one thing only, which is his hatred of Nazis and his desire to kill as many Nazis as possible,” Gunn stated. “So, for me, as somebody who hates fascism in all its forms, I can relate to somebody who wants to get out there and put the smackdown on some Nazis.”

Creature Commandos is the first project of James Gunn and Peter Safran’s new DC Universe. The animated series will star Viola Davis, David Harbour, Sean Gunn, Frank Grillo, Indira Varma, Alan Tudyk, Maria Bakalova, Zoë Chao, Steve Agee, and more. The series, which is canon to the wider DCU, will debut in 2024.

The DC Universe’s first phase, called Chapter One: Gods and Monsters, will feature a multitude of different movies and television shows. A few of the announced projects include Superman: Legacy, a Batman and Robin-focused movie called The Brave and the Bold, a Supergirl movie titled Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, a Swamp Thing film, and multiple TV shows.
