A behind-the-scenes featurette for MGM’s upcoming action thriller Samaritan has been revealed, featuring commentary by Sylvester Stallone and Javon “Wanna” Walton. The film will be available for streaming on August 26, exclusively on Prime Video.

The Samaritan First Look featurette, which you can check out below, teases the action-packed sequences that will be featured in the film. It also features Stallone talking about his character and why he decided to take on the role.



Samaritan is directed by Julius Avery from a screenplay written by Bragi F. Scut. The film stars Sylvester Stallone, Javon “Wanna” Walton, Pilou Asbæk, Dascha Polanco, and Moises Arias.

“In the film, thirteen-year-old Sam Cleary suspects that his mysterious and reclusive neighbor Mr. Smith is actually a legend hiding in plain sight,” reads the synopsis. “Twenty years ago, Granite City’s super-powered vigilante, Samaritan, was reported dead after a fiery warehouse battle with his rival, Nemesis. Most believe Samaritan perished in the fire, but some in the city, like Sam, have hope that he is still alive. With crime on the rise and the city on the brink of chaos, Sam makes it his mission to coax his neighbor out of hiding to save the city from ruin.”

Samaritan is produced by Sylvester Stallone and Braden Aftergood, with Scut, David Kern, Adam Rosenberg, and Guy Riedel serving as executive producers
