Ryan Gosling, Ghost Rider

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is vast. From its humble beginnings nearly fifteen years ago with Iron Man, the MCU has grown to include over thirty movies and TV shows with plenty more on the way. This obviously means that a great many actors have taken part in the MCU, but not everyone has joined up… yet Ryan Gosling has been brought up in regards to a handful of Marvel roles over the years, but it turns out there’s just one he wants to play — Ghost Rider.

It was rumoured several weeks ago that Ryan Gosling had joined the MCU as Nova, a member of the Nova Corps who developed superhuman abilities. While speaking with Josh Horowitz on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, Ryan Gosling denied the Nova rumours before adding that the hero he’d really like to play is Ghost Rider.

Although Ryan Gosling may have shot down rumours that he’d be playing Nova, Marvel Studios does have plans for the character. It was revealed earlier this year that Marvel was developing a Nova project and had tapped Moon Knight writer Sabir Pirzada to pen the script. It’s not known if the Nova project will be a feature film or a limited series for Disney+. The last time we saw Ghost Rider was in Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. where he was played by Gabriel Luna. The actor was set to reprise the role for a Ghost Rider series, but it wound up being scrapped.

Ryan Gosling will next be seen in The Gray Man. The action-thriller from Avengers: Endgame director Joe and Anthony Russo centers on Court Gentry, a CIA black ops mercenary who accidentally uncovers dark agency secrets. He quickly becomes a primary target and finds himself hunted by a gang of international assassins and his psychopathic former colleague, Lloyd Hanson (Chris Evans). The Gray Man will be released in select theaters on July 15th and will launch on Netflix on July 22nd.

What do you think? Would Ryan Gosling make a good Ghost Rider?
