The official trailer for Netflix’s upcoming Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Movie has been released, highlighting a new take on the iconic group of heroes ahead of its release on August 5, 2022.

The new film sees the turtles finding a version of Casey Jones from the future, who tasks the turtles with saving the world before an alien race known as “The Krang” can take over the world and fulfill the future prophecy.

The new film comes courtesy of Netflix’s After School brand, a collection of films and television series’ that aim to help younger audiences discover fun new shows and movies based on some of the biggest properties in the world.

“The Turtles are put to the test when a mysterious stranger named Casey Jones arrives from the future to warn the mutant brothers of an impending invasion of the most dangerous alien force in the galaxy — the Krang,” reads the official synopsis for the film. ” Leo is forced to rise & lead his brothers, Raph, Donnie, and Mikey, in a fight to save the world.”

Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Movie is set to premiere on August 5, 2022, on Netflix.
