Rick and Morty, season 6, release date

Rick and Morty fans have become accustomed to a long wait between seasons, but thankfully, the latest season of the Emmy-winning animated comedy series is just a little over a month away. Adult Swim announced today that they have slated Rick and Morty season 6 for a September 4th release.

It’s hard to overstate the impact of Rick and Morty,” said Michael Ouweleen, president of Adult Swim and Cartoon Network. “More than a hit show, it is truly a global phenomenon. As we prepare to launch this soon-to-be iconic season, we will be giving fans a unique way to be part of the fun – so keep your eyes peeled.

Featuring the voices of Justin Roiland, Sarah Chalke, Chris Parnell, and Spencer Grammer, Rick and Morty follows “a sociopathic genius scientist who drags his inherently timid grandson on insanely dangerous adventures across the universe. Rick Sanchez is living with his daughter Beth’s family and constantly bringing her, his son-in-law Jerry, granddaughter Summer, and grandson Morty into intergalactic escapades.” According to Adult Swim, Rick and Morty has been viewed over 10 billion times globally across linear, digital, and streaming platforms. The series received an unprecedented 70-episode renewal back in 2018.

In addition to 100 years of Rick and Morty, Adult Swim also ordered a ten-episode anime series earlier this year. Takashi Sana will develop the series, which will adapt the themes and events of the main series but will stand on its own. “The multiverse-straddling exploits of Rick and the gang pose challenges to the family bond, but they always rise to the occasion,” Sano said. “It’s such a life-affirming sight, and Jerry is no exception I am honored to have been given an opportunity to tell a new story about this amazing family. I hope you enjoy their adventures!

Rick and Morty season 6 will release on Adult Swim on September 4th at 11 pm ET/PT.
