MANILA, Philippines—Team Philippines bagged a pair of gold medals at the Sarawak Premier International Silat Championships in Sarawak, Malaysia.

Jessa Dela Cruz joined hands with Shara Julia Jizmundo and Franchette Anne Elman to rule the seni artistic regu female event while Mary Justine Acat topped her rivals in the women’s open weight 2 in the tanding/combat event.

The national pencak silat squad likewise pocketed two silvers and six bronzes, results the Filipinos should at least duplicate in the coming 32nd Southeast Asian Games in Phnom Penh, Cambodia on May 5-17.

Jeremae Beato and Jude Mitz Jalandoni settled for the silver in the seni artistic ganda female category and Alvin Campos placed second in the VIP match male class F in tanding/combat.

Bringing home the bronzes were Edmar Tacuel (Tunggal male), Angel Gwen Derla (Bebas solo creative female) and tanding fighters Angeline Virina (female class A), Hanna Mae Ibutnande (female class B), Rogielyn Parado (female class C) and Stephen Suazo (male open weight 1).
