No Way Home extended version is 11 minutes longer

Spider-Man: No Way Home was the biggest film of 2021, grossing $1.9 billion worldwide. Bringing together heroes and villains from across the Spider-Man franchise was just too good for audiences to pass up, but Sony Pictures are hoping that you’ll return once more for the Spider-Man: No Way Home extended version.

As revealed by Fandango, Spider-Man: No Way Home – The More Fun Stuff Version will feature 11 minutes of new footage when it hits theaters on September 2nd. Tickets for the Spider-Man: No Way Home extended version will go on sale next Tuesday (August 23rd).

It remains to be seen just what this 11 minutes of new footage will consist of. Perhaps we’ll see more of Peter Parker (Tom Holland), Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield), and Peter Parker (Tobey Maguire), or maybe more from the various Spidey villains who turned up throughout the movie. I would imagine that much of the footage will be smaller character moments that had to be cut from the theatrical version, but I’m sure some fans are just eager for the opportunity to see the movies on the big screen once again.

Although Tom Holland has wondered whether he should step away from Spider-Man, producer Amy Pascal has said that they’re developing another Spider-Man trilogy. “[Spider-Man: No Way Home] is not the last movie that we are going to make with Marvel — [this is not] the last Spider-Man movie,” Pascal said. “We are getting ready to make the next ‘Spider-Man’ movie with Tom Holland and Marvel. We’re thinking of this as three films, and now we’re going to go on to the next three. This is not the last of our MCU movies…Yes, Marvel and Sony are going to keep going together as partners.

Spider-Man: No Way Home was released on Blu-ray/4K Ultra HD earlier this year. Will you be heading back to theaters to check out the extended version of Spider-Man: No Way Home?
