In a recent interview with 4Gamer.net, Miyazaki was asked about various projects that the director spoke about in a 2018 interview with the website. At the time, Miyazaki said that 3 and a half “development lines” were underway, with two of them being unannounced titles.
One of those two ended up being 2022’s smash hit Elden Ring, while the other unannounced game remains unknown. However, Miyazaki did reveal that the game is in the “final stages” of development, although he didn’t dive any further into what that game might be.
Elsewhere in the interview, Miyazaki also revealed that he’s already working on his next game, and said that his future goals include wanting to work on a “more abstract fantasy” than anything FromSoftware has done in the past.
“I’m already working on my next title as a director, so I’d like to avoid giving too much away there,” said Miyazaki (via Gematsu). “In the mid-to-long term, I would like to work on a more abstract fantasy than anything we’ve done in the past.”

Finally, Miyazaki was asked about the current state of Elden Ring and FromSoftware as a whole and said that more updates for the game would release at some point, although he didn’t reveal exactly what those were or when fans might be able to expect them. He also touched on the fact that the company had several games in development by directors other than himself, but that they could not be discussed at this time.
