Amazon Prime Video‘s new TV and movie releases for September 18-24 include Guy Ritchie’s The Covenant, Gael Garcia Bernal’s Cassandro, and A Thousand and One starring American singer Teyana Taylor.

Starting on September 19, viewers can stream the film A Thousand and One starring Teyana Taylor and directed by A.V. Rockwell in her feature directorial debut. The story of the film follows a single mother, hairdresser, and convicted thief, Inez de la Paz who kidnaps her son Terry out of the foster care system with the intention of raising him herself. Aside from Taylor, A Thousand and One also stars Aaron Kingsley Adetola, Aven Courtney, Josiah Cross, Will Catlett, and Terry Abney.

Then on September 22, viewers can catch Guy Ritchies’ latest film, The Covenant, which stars Jake Gyllenhaal and Dar Salim in the lead roles. The story of this action-thriller film follows John Kinley, a U.S. Army Green Beret sergeant, and his Afghan interpreter, Ahmed, who team up to fight the Taliban. Also starring in the film in supporting roles are Sean Sagar, Jason Wong, Emily Beecham, Jonny Lee Miller, Alexander Ludwig, James Nelson-Joyce, and Antony Starr.

Again on September 22, viewers can stream Cassandro, starring Gael Garcia Bernal. The film is directed by Roger Ross Williams and set in the 1980s and revolves around a gay wrestler Saul Armendariz, a resident of El Paso, who regularly crosses the border to Ciudad Juarez in Mexico to participate in lucha libre wrestling matches. Saul competes in matches under the identity of El Topo, until he is convinced by a new trainer named Sabrina to compete in exotico matches which leads to the birth of his wrestling identity, Cassandro. Aside from Bernal, the film also features Roberta Colindrez, Joaquin Coslo, Raul Castillo, and Bad Bunny in leading roles.
