SNK’s next fighting game will be a new Fatal Fury game.

The long-running fighting game series that birthed Terry Bogard has been dormant for over 20 years, yet a new Fatal Fury game taking place after 1999’s Garou: Mark of the Wolves was announced at Evo 2022. This comes after SNK’s well-received revitalization of both Samurai Shodown and The King of Fighters.

Check out the new Fatal Fury game teaser trailer below:

“Legends never die… After more than 20 years, Fatal Fury/Garou is coming back!” reads the description. “Finally, the long-awaited sequel has been greenlit!”

The video features Rock Howard, who is the son of iconic Fatal Fury villain Goose Howard. Rock was the lead character of 1999’s Mark of the Wolves, which featured only Terry Bogard as a returning character. It remains to be seen if the cast will be comprised of mainly new characters or many Fatal Fury veterans. However, considering it’s been over two decades since the last installment, it’d make sense for a lot of characters to make their return.

Other notable Fatal Fury characters include Andy Bogard, Joe Higashi, Mai Shiranui, and Geese Howard, although Howard is dead in the universe’s timeline.
