Neve campbell, Scream 6, scream

Has Sidney Prescott’s Scream story officially ended? I guess we should take this with a grain of salt but Neve Campbell was present at Monsterpalooza at the Pasadena Convention Center this weekend and several attendees are reporting that the actress said she will not be returning for Scream 6.

The news comes from several attendees that have posted online that Campbell has stated she will not be involved in the upcoming Scream 6 after reading the script because, according to Campbell, via the attendees, “it didn’t do Sidney justice.” You can check out the post regarding the Monsterpalooza news below!

Some fans hearing this news simply don’t want to believe it. They think it’s a major misdirect and that she might even be lying because she can’t reveal she’s in the film yet. Call it the Andrew Garfield denial syndrome. He lied for the better part of a year about not being in Spider-Man: No Way Home and that turned out to be a major fib. As a Scream fan, I hope it’s a misdirect. For me, it’s just not Scream without Neve Campbell. I enjoyed the new film and even liked the new characters but she’s the heart and soul of that franchise.

Several cast members from Scream are set to return for the next installment including Melissa Barrera, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Mason Gooding, and Jenna Ortega. Scream 4’s Hayden Panettiere will also be returning while Dermot Mulroney was recently added to the cast. Courteney Cox hasn’t officially been announced but she has confirmed that she read the script and she loves it so that’s promising that she will be returning as Gale Weathers.

Do YOU think Neve Campbell isn’t returning for Scream 6?
