Netflix has dropped the official First Kill trailer for its forthcoming supernatural teen romance drama, centering a forbidden love story between a hunter and a vampire. All eight episodes will be available for streaming on June 10.

The video, which you can check out below along with the new poster, teases the instant connection between Cal, a rookie hunter who comes from a long lineage of monster hunters, and Juliette, a legacy vampire. It also highlights the unavoidable clashes between Cal and Juliette’s families, who trying to find ways to destroy each other.

First Kill stars Sarah Catherine Hook, Imani Lewis, Elizabeth Mitchell, Aubin Wise, Gracie Dzienny, Dominic Goodman, Phillip Mullings, Jr., Jason R. Moore, Jonas Dylan Allen, and Dylan McNamara, and MK xyz.

“When it’s time for teenage vampire Juliette to make her first kill so she can take her place among a powerful vampire family, she sets her sights on a new girl in town named Calliope,” reads the synopsis. “But much to Juliette’s surprise, Calliope is a vampire hunter from a family of celebrated slayers. Both find that the other won’t be so easy to kill and, unfortunately, way too easy to fall for.”

Based on the short story by New York Times best-selling author Victoria “V. E.” Schwab, First Kill is created, written, and executive produced by Felicia D. Henderson, who is also serving as showrunner. Executive producers are Schwab, Emma Roberts, and Karah Preiss.
