Ms. Marvel Images Tease Kamala’s Power, Superhero Fandom, and More

A handful of new images for the highly anticipated upcoming Disney+ series Ms. Marvel have been released, highlighting Kamala Khan showcasing her powers, the world of superhero fandom, and more.

The new images come from Empire’s recent coverage of the series, and showcase actress Iman Vellani as Kamala Khan in a variety of locations, including what looks to be hovering in the sky and ready to unleash some of her powers. In another image, it looks as if Khan is putting on some sort of show, dressed fully in Captain Marvel cosplay, while people behind her are also dressed in a variety of different Captain Marvel-themed costumes.

Ms. Marvel stars newcomer Iman Vellani in her acting debut as Kamala Khan, which also marks the live-action debut of the fan-favorite Marvel character. Joining Vellani are Aramis Knight, Saagar Shaikh, Rish Shah, Zenobia Shroff, Mohan Kapur, Matt Lintz, Yasmeen Fletcher, Laith Naki, Azher Usman, Travina Springer, and Nimra Bucha.

“The series introduces Kamala Khan—a 16-year-old Pakistani American from Jersey City,” reads the official synopsis. “An aspiring artist, an avid gamer, and a voracious fan-fiction scribe, she is a huge fan of the Avengers—and one in particular, Captain Marvel. But Kamala has always struggled to find her place in the world—that is, until she gets superpowers like the heroes she’s always looked up to.”

Ms. Marvel is directed by executive producers Adil El Arbi & Bilall Fallah, Meera Menon, and Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy, with executive producer Bisha K. Ali serving as head writer.

Following the series, Vellani’s teen hero will next be seen in Nia DaCosta’s Captain Marvel sequel titled The Marvels starring opposite Brie Larson and Teyonah Parris, which is currently set for a July 28, 2023 release.
