The director duo of Josh and Benny Safdie are picking up more cast members for their upcoming film, with Deadline reporting that artist Megan Thee Stallion is in talks to star alongside Adam Sandler in the project.

It’s unclear exactly what Megan Thee Stallion’s role in the film will be, but her acting career has already begun blossoming, with roles in shows like P-Valley, She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, and Good Girls. She’ll also make her feature film debut in A24’s R-rated musical comedy film F–king Identical Twins, where she’ll co-star alongside Nathan Lane, Bowen Yang, and Megan Mullally.

Outside of the world of acting, Megan Thee Stallion is best known for her music, with hit songs “Savage” and “WAP” earning her number-one singles on the US Billboard Hot 100 charts. At the 63rd Annual Grammy Awards, she also became the second female rapper to ever win the Best New Artist award and was named as one of the 100 most influential people in the 2020 Time 100.

The upcoming film, which is set to be released by streaming giant Netflix, has no real plot information as of yet. Although Sandler previously said that the film would take place in the world of sports memorabilia; specifically the world of card collecting. The Safdies will direct the project from a script written by the pair and will also serve as producers on the film, which will begin filming later this year.

The trio of the Safdies and Sandler first got together for 2019’s Uncut Gems, a film that received critical acclaim partly due to Sandler’s performance. Uncut Gems earned Sandler a great deal of praise for his intense and more dramatic performance, with the actor winning the Film Independent Spirit Award for Best Male Lead.
