Mark Hamill pops by to train Cameron Monaghan’s Cal Kestis in a funny promo for the release of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor.

It’s launch day for Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, the highly anticipated sequel to Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. The game once again chronicles the journey of Cal Kestis, a young Jedi who survived Order 66 and remained in hiding until he became a target of the Empire. As it’s not easy being a Jedi, Mark Hamill stopped by the Star Wars Jedi: Survivor motion capture stage to give Cameron Monaghan a little advice. You can check out the fun promo video for the game above!

Picking up five years after the events of the first game, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor finds Cal Kestis beginning to feel the weight of being one of the last remaining Jedi in the galaxy as he must stay one step ahead of the Empire’s constant pursuit. Accompanied by his trusty companion BD-1, Cal will meet and ally himself with an array of unique and interesting characters on his journey. Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will expand on the series’ dynamic combat in new and innovative ways. In order to survive, Cal must learn new skills and grow his connection with the Force. I found the first game to be quite enjoyable, and the sequel looks like a blast as well, particularly as the lightsaber combat has been developed even more.

Given that the in-game character model of Cal Kestis looks identical to Cameron Monaghan, there have been rumours that he could play the role in live-action as well, which the actor addressed last year. “I love this character. They’re starting to explore him through other mediums — we have a novel coming up,” Monaghan said. “It’s been really amazing doing it within the video game space because I think games are vastly under-explored and underutilized, and are only really getting their due in this moment — people are looking at games and seeing they’re incredible and moving and significant. So my priority right now is to make sure we have a satisfying arc within the games. What happens or where Star Wars wants to go from there is anybody’s guess, but I can say I love Cal and it’s been a joy finding him over the past few years. So we’ll see.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is now available on PlayStation5, Xbox Series X|S and Windows PC.
