Lost in New York- Face Off

[ad_1]

The pantheon of great Christmas movies was changed forever in 1990 with the release of the seminal film, Home Alone. Written By John Hughes, Directed by Chris Columbus, and scored by John Williams, the talent behind the camera is just legendary. And, in front of the screen, you have child actor Macaulay Culkin as Kevin McCallister, who is the undeniable centre of the film—an impressive feat for a 10-year-old!

He’s surrounded by an all-star cast including, Catherine O’Hera and John Heard as Kevin’s parents, and Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern as the iconic buglers the Wet Bandits! The film captured audiences and critics alike who fell for the lovable Kevin and the lengths he goes to, to protect his home. Not only was it well received by audiences and critics alike, the film would go on to make $476.7 million worldwide!

It was quickly followed by its sequel Home Alone 2: Lost in New York, which sees Kevin end up in the big apple after a mix-up at the airport. Many familiar faces from the first film return and they are joined by newcomers Brenda Fricker as the pigeon lady Kevin meets, and also a scene stealing comedic performance by Tim Curry as the Plaza’s concierge. The film would end up being the 3rd highest grossing film of the year and become a permanent franchise for Fox.

But when forced to go toe-to-toe against each other, which film can set the better trap? Watch out for any falling bricks folks, it’s time we – FACE OFF!

This episode of FACE-OFF was written and edited by Paul Cooper, narrated by Shawn Knippelberg, produced by Adam Walton and Chris Bumbray and executive produced by Berge Garabedian.
