The Santa Clauses, Laura San Giacomo, Tim Allen, Disney+

Laura San Giacomo is coming to cast a spell over the upcoming Disney+ holiday series The Santa Clauses. According to Deadline, the Barry and NCSI actress will play La Befana, a Christmas Witch from Italian folklore who delivered treats to good children on the morning of the epiphany. She lives in the Wobbly Woods of the North Pole.

In The Santa Clauses, Scott Calvin (Tim Allen) is on the brink of his 65th birthday and realizes he can’t be Santa forever. He’s suddenly starting to lose his Santa magic, and more importantly, he’s got a family who could benefit from a life in the ordinary world, especially his two kids who have grown up at the North Pole. With many elves, children, and family to please, Scott sets out to find a suitable replacement Santa while preparing his family for a new adventure in life south of the pole.

Jack Burditt executive produces and showruns the Disney+ series. Burditt worked with San Giacomo on the comedic sitcom series Just Shoot Me.

Recently, it was announced that David Krumholtz would reprise his role as Bernard the elf. This news was like an early Christmas present for fans of the franchise because Bernard is pretty much the best. The Santa Clauses also stars Elizabeth Mitchell as Carol/Mrs. Claus, Elizabeth Allen-Dick as Sandra, Devin Bright as Noel, Austin Kane as Cal, Matilda Lawler as Betty, Rupali Redd as Grace, and Kal Penn as Simon Choski.

Are you excited about The Santa Clause franchise continuing as a Disney+ series? What do you think about San Giacomo playing a Christmas Witch from Italian folklore?
