Actor Lance Reddick recently passed away and left his mark on many shows like The Wire and films like John Wick and its three sequels. However, he’s also been known for his video game roles like his character Zavala in Destiny 2 and Sylens in the Horizon series. However, he’s also slated for at least one more game, one where he plays the titular role: Hellboy Web of Wyrd.

Hellboy creator Mike Mignola tweeted about it in a reaction to the actor’s untimely death, noting that Reddick was “such a nice guy.” He recalled meeting with him a few weeks prior, as Reddick was set to voice Hellboy “for a new computer game.”

While he doesn’t outright say it, he’s talking about the third-person roguelite Hellboy Web of Wyrd, which was revealed at The Game Awards in December 2022. Reddick can clearly be heard saying only three words in the reveal trailer — “Me? I’m mad” — but developer Upstream Arcade didn’t advertise Reddick’s involvement at the time.

However, the game’s Twitter account did retweet a tweet from Dark Horse Comics passing on condolences to Reddick’s family and then issued a statement saying, “Our hearts are with Lance’s family, friends, colleagues, and fans. Lance was a brilliant performer, generous with his time and attention — he had talent beyond compare, and we remain honored to have him as our Hellboy.”
