Wonder Twins movie, KJ Apa, Isabel May

KJ Apa (Riverdale) and Isabel May (Yellowstone: 1883) will soon be joining the DC Universe as they’re set to star in the Wonder Twins movie. Apa will play Zan, and May will portray Jayna, the titular Wonder Twins.

The Wonder Twins movie will be written and directed by Adam Sztykiel, who has served as a writer on Rampage, Scoob!, as well as Dwayne Johnson’s upcoming Black Adam movie. Zan and Jayna, the Wonder Twins, first appeared in Hanna-Barbera’s animated series The All-New Super Friends Hour in 1977 and went on to join the larger DC Universe. The extraterrestrial twins are able to activate their superpowers by touching hands and saying, “Wonder Twin powers, activate!” Jayna can transform into any animal with Zan able to become water in any state (kind of got the short end of the stick there). The twins also have a pet space monkey named Gleek who helps them out. Plot details about the Wonder Twins movie are being kept under wraps at this point, but it is being described as more comedic in nature. KJ Apa and Isabel May will be bringing us their Wonder Twins sooner rather than later as production on the film is set to begin this summer in Atlanta. The Wonder Twins movie is being developed for a release on HBO Max.

KJ Apa is best known for playing Archie Andrews in Riverdale, which is in the midst of its fifth season on The CW, while Isabel May recently starred in 1883, the Yellowstone prequel series that aired on Paramount+. She was also seen starring alongside Charlie Day and Jenny Slate in I Want You Back, a romantic comedy released on Prime Video.
