One film left absent from Marvel Studios’ San Diego Comic-Con panel was the upcoming Deadpool 3, a film which many fans are extremely excited about. According to Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige, development on the film is proceeding, and hinted at what fans can expect from it.

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter following their Hall H panel at SDCC, Feige was asked about the third Deadpool film, and teased that Marvel Studios has a history of taking big swings when it comes to the third entry in a film series. He went on to note that the studio is looking at how to best “elevate” the film in the same they did with other third films like Captain America: Civil War, Avengers: Infinity War, and Thor: Ragnarok.

“How do we elevate it in the way we’ve been able to with Civil War, and Infinity War and Ragnarok?” said Feige, before joking about getting to work with Deadpool‘s star Ryan Reynolds. “It’s very fun to be in the world of the Ryan Reynolds show.”

While not too much is known about Deadpool 3, it’s now being written by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick from a previous draft by Bob’s Burgers duo Wendy Molyneux and Lizzie Molyneux-Loeglin. Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige has also previously assured fans that it will remain as an R-rated film just like the first two movies, which would make it the studio’s first movie with a mature rating.

It will also serve as the first movie in the Deadpool film series that will be released following Disney’s acquisition of 20th Century Fox. A release date for the movie has not yet been announced.

The first two Deadpool films are both box-office successes as they earned a combined worldwide gross of over $1.5 billion. They were both written by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, based on the Marvel character created by Fabian Nicieza and Rob Liefeld, with the first one directed by Tim Miller, and Deadpool 2 directed by David Leitch.
