Last summer, it was announced that Katey Sagal (Sons of Anarchy, Married… with Children) would be starring in Tattered Hearts, one of the eight horror and thriller films Blumhouse Productions is making for the Epix premium cable outlet. Since then, Tattered Hearts has been retitled Torn Hearts, and the film has been scheduled for a May 20th digital release. With that date just one month away, a trailer for Torn Hearts has been unveiled and can be seen in the embed above.

Directed by genre regular Brea Grant (12 Hour Shift) from a screenplay by newcomer Rachel Koller Croft, Torn Hearts is set in Nashville and centers on

two friends, rising artists on the brink of a big break, who will do just about anything to realize their dream – including a pilgrimage to the legendary and reclusive Harper Dutch’s (Katey Sagal) mansion in the hopes she’ll record a song with them. While their life-long idol seems intent to help, the visit devolves into a twisted series of mental and physical torment as the pair discover Harper – and each other – may have other motives. With no other choice and desperate to record a song, the duo must go to dangerous lengths to prove their dedication to their dream of becoming Nashville’s next country music stars.

Sagal is joined in the cast by Abby Quinn (Mad About You), Alexxis Lemire (Cerebrum), Joshua Leonard (The Blair Witch Project), Shiloh Fernandez (Evil Dead 2013), and Clarke Wolfe (Satanic Panic).

Jason Blum, Chris McCumber, and Jeremy Gold of Blumhouse Television executive produced Torn Hearts alongside John Ierardi.

I intend to watch all of the Blumhouse / Epix movies, just like I watched all of the Blumhouse / Hulu Into the Dark movies, so I’ll definitely be checking out Torn Hearts at some point. Will you be watching the movie? Let us know by leaving a comment below.
