Tobin Bell’s Jigsaw is up to his old tricks as Lionsgate has released an eye-popping new official poster for Saw X.

Saw X, John Kramer

Jigsaw is back, baby! After Tobin Bell didn’t appear in Spiral: From the Book of Saw, fans were thrilled when it was announced that he would be returning in a big way for Saw X. Lionsgate has dropped a new poster for Saw X, which features one of Jigsaw’s disturbing traps.

The trap in the Saw X poster looks as though it will be inflicting some serious damage to this poor bastard’s eyes. Will some sort of creature(s) descend down the tubes? Or perhaps some corrosive substance?

Saw X won’t be following in the footsteps of any of the recent movies as it was revealed that the new film will be set between the events of the first two movies. “John Kramer (Tobin Bell) is back. The most chilling installment of the SAW franchise yet explores the untold chapter of Jigsaw’s most personal game,” reads the official synopsis. “Set between the events of SAW I and II, a sick and desperate John travels to Mexico for a risky and experimental medical procedure in hopes of a miracle cure for his cancer – only to discover the entire operation is a scam to defraud the most vulnerable. Armed with a newfound purpose, John returns to his work, turning the tables on the con artists in his signature visceral way through a series of ingenious and terrifying traps.

Kevin Greutert, who directed Saw VI and Saw 3D, returned to helm Saw X, which was penned by Peter Goldfinger & Josh Stolberg. A press release from Lionsgate states “the return of Bell to the franchise furthers Lionsgate and Twisted Pictures’ goal of a film that captures everything Saw fans love about the franchise, while also keeping them guessing with all-new traps and a new mystery to solve.” Franchise producers Mark Burg and Oren Koules added, “What a thrill to be reuniting with Tobin. His performance as John Kramer is part of the magic that made this franchise a phenomenon and his character is an active part of this film.

Saw X was originally set to hit theaters on October 27th but Lionsgate recently bumped up the release to September 29th.
