Jeff Daniels is set to return to Netflix as he’s been tapped to star in A Man in Full, a limited series based on the 1998 novel by Tom Wolfe.
The six-episode series comes from David E. Kelley and Regina King, with Kelley serving as writer, executive producer, and showrunner, with King directing three episodes and executive producing. A Man in Full tells the story of “Charlie Croker (Daniels), an Atlanta real estate mogul who’s facing sudden bankruptcy. Political and business interests collide as Charlie defends his empire from those attempting to capitalize on his fall from grace, but the crude, rude and irrepressible Charlie defends it against all takers — at any cost.” Sounds like a juicy role.
As I mentioned above, A Man in Full won’t be Jeff Daniels’ first time leading a Netflix series. The actor previously starred alongside Jack O’ Connell, Michelle Dockery, Scoot McNairy, Merrit Wever, Thomas Brodie-Sangster, Kim Coates, and Sam Waterston in Godless. The Western series was created, written, and directed by Scott Frank and told the story of a young outlaw on the run from his vengeful mentor who winds up in a small town populated almost entirely by women. Jeff Daniels played the main villain and the role won him an Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Limited Series or Movie. Jeff Daniels was most recently seen starring in American Rust, a Showtime series set in a small Rust Belt town in Pennsylvania. Daniels played Chief of Police Del Harris, who must take on an investigation when the son of the woman he loves is accused of murder. Showtime cancelled the series after a single season earlier this year.
