Jared Padalecki, supernatural, walker

Supernatural’s Jared Padalecki was supposed to attend the Creation Entertainment’s Supernatural Official Convention in New York but he was notably absent. His Supernatural co-star Jensen Ackles revealed at the convention that Padalecki was in a serious car accident and that’s why he couldn’t attend and now Padalecki is giving his fans an update on his condition.

During the convention, Ackles said that Padalecki was “lucky to be alive” after the car accident and made it clear that Padalecki was the passenger and not the driver. Ackles added, “And not only that, but he’s home recovering which, the fact that he’s not in a hospital right now is blowing my mind because I saw the car.” Padalecki gave Ackles permission to share the story and now he has given his own update on the matter.

While the actor didn’t discuss details of the crash, he did go to Instagram to share a picture of himself and his daughter Odette and he thanked his fans for all of their well-wishes. The caption read, “Hey y’all! I want to thank everyone for the outpouring of love. I’m definitely on the mend and hoping to return to filming later this week. I’m so lucky to have had the best care and be surrounded by people who love me. So grateful for everyone.” You can check out the Instagram post below!

Jared Padalecki is currently starring in The CW’s Walker, which will be heading into its third season. The actor is likely shooting season three now which probably hit pause after Padalecki’s accident. Judging from the picture and his positive nature, I’m sure he will be back to work in no time.

Ackles and Padalecki share a bond that goes beyond just being co-stars. They starred in Supernatural for 15 seasons playing brothers Sam (Padalecki) and Dean Winchester (Ackles), a duo that hunts down supernatural entities across the country. The actors are seemingly brothers that don’t share DNA at this point and it’s a union that fans continue to respond to even after the series ended its run in 2020. There’s something nice about them continuing to look out for each other and let’s just all be thankful that Padalecki wasn’t seriously injured in the accident.
