Not too much is known about James Gunn‘s upcoming Superman movie, Superman: Legacy. However, Gunn has revealed that it won’t exactly have the same vibe as his previous superhero films.

In an interview with Rolling Stone, Gunn touched on some of the lessons he learned while filming the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise. While he’s learned many lessons that he’ll take into future films, Gunn said, he won’t necessarily be taking many into Superman: Legacy, due to how different the projects are.

“I learned so much from making these movies,” Gunn said. “But it’s not like Superman is going to have exactly the same vibe as a Guardians movie. It’s actually quite different.”

Gunn also joked about the possibility of having Krypto the Superdog appear in Gunn’s upcoming live-action Superman film, following the success of Rocket Racoon in the Guardians franchise. “I think I would have an interest in a live-action Krypto whether or not I had anything to do with Rocket,” said Gunn.

Superman: Legacy tells the story of Superman’s journey to reconcile his Kryptonian heritage with his human upbringing as Clark Kent of Smallville, Kansas. He is the embodiment of truth, justice and the American way, guided by human kindness in a world that sees kindness as old-fashioned.”

The DC Universe’s first phase, called Chapter One: Gods and Monsters, will feature a multitude of different movies and television shows. A few of the announced projects include Superman: Legacy, a Batman and Robin-focused movie called The Brave and the Bold, a Supergirl movie titled Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, a Swamp Thing film, and multiple TV shows.
