When a superhero gets their powers from a god, one tends to assume that said god must be a benevolent being. But the longer Moon Knight goes, the more we’re beginning to suspect that Khonshu, the Egyptian god of the moon, and the being who has given powers and a cool costume to Steven Grant / Marc Spector, is not necessarily doing this out of the kindness of his heart. Could Khonshu actually be the show’s true villain?

In our latest Moon Knight video, we put forward the theory that Khonshu is really the villain of Moon Knight. We look at the evidence from the show, like the fact that the bloodthirsty Arthur Harrow was his former avatar, and we also explore how Marvel Comics have begun treating Khonshu as a more malevolent being in recent years. We also look at how Steven’s dissociative identity disorder plays into Khonshu’s plans, and why he might be drawn to people with damaged psyches like Steven. Check out the video below:
