Production on Marvel’s Ironheart series for Disney+ is currently underway and Deadline has reported that Manny Montana has joined the cast as a series regular. As if the Marvel way, details about his role in the series are naturally being kept under wraps. The actor is best known for his roles in Good Girls, Mayans M.C., and he also starred alongside Clint Eastwood in The Mule.
Ironheart stars Dominique Thorne (Judas and the Black Messiah) as Riri Williams, “a genius inventor who creates the most advanced suit of armor since Iron Man.” In addition to Dominique Thorne and Manny Montana, Ironheart will also star Lyric Ross (This is Us) as Riri Williams’ best friend and Anthony Ramos (In the Heights) as a mystery character rumoured to be the villain. The series is being helmed by Sam Bailey (Dear White People) and Angela Barnes (Atlanta), with Black Panther director Ryan Coogler executive producing the series. Riri Williams will actually make her first appearance in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, which will hit theaters on November 11, 2022.
Riri Williams was created by Brian Michael Bendis and Mike Deodato back in 2016 and introduced as a 15-year-old MIT student who managed to reverse engineer Iron Man’s armor to create her own and caught the attention of Tony Stark himself. Before Manny Montana makes his entrance into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, he’ll next be seen in the upcoming fourth season of Westworld in a recurring role. The new season of Westworld will debut on HBO on June 26th.
