Lionsgate has announced the Imaginary release date for Blumhouse’s forthcoming horror movie, which hails from Kick-Ass 2 filmmaker Jeff Wadlow.

When does the Imaginary movie come out?

The film is scheduled to make its theatrical debut on February 2, 2024. The Imaginary release date will pit it directly against Warner Bros.’ Robert De Niro-led mob film Wise Guys. It is also slated to debut in the same month as other high-profile features, including the untitled Fast & Furious 11 and Sony Pictures’ live-action Madame Web movie.

“In the film, a young woman returns to her childhood home only to discover that the imaginary friend she left behind is very real and very unhappy she left,” reads the synopsis.

Imaginary is directed by Jeff Wadlow from a screenplay he co-wrote with Greg Erb and Jason Oremland. Wadlow is no stranger to horror, as he previously helmed 2005’s Cry Wolf starring Jon Bon Jovi, 2018’s Truth or Dare starring Lucy Hale, 2020’s Fantasy Island reboot starring Michael Pena, and 2022’s The Curse of Bridge Hollow starring Marlon Wayans.

The project is being produced by Jason Blum and Jeff Wadlow, with Ryan Turek executive producing. It is a production by Blumhouse. Further casting details are still under wraps.
