The Hogwarts Legacy Switch version has been delayed. This pushes back the Wizarding World game’s Switch debut until later this year.

When does Hogwarts Legacy release on Nintendo Switch?

In a tweet sent out on Friday from the game’s official Twitter account, developer Portkey Games announced that the Hogwarts Legacy Switch version would release on November 14, 2023. This is a bit of a delay from the game’s planned July 25, 2023 release.

In its message, the delay was attributed to wanting “the best possible experience” for players on the Nintendo Switch. The last-gen console versions of Hogwarts Legacy were also delayed for a similar reason, but eventually released earlier this year.

When Hogwarts Legacy does eventually release on the Nintendo Switch, it will add to what is already an impressive launch. Early reports of Hogwarts Legacy‘s sales indicated that the game was going to be successful. However, an official report from Warner Bros. Games earlier this year revealed that the title was even more successful than people may have thought.

In an announcement in February, the publisher confirmed that Hogwarts Legacy has sold more than 12 million units, accruing more than $850 million in sales globally in its first two weeks. The game, available now on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, will also launch for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on April 4, 2023, and then later for Nintendo Switch on July 25, 2023.
