The Lord of the Rings: Heroes of Middle-earth had already had a soft launch, but now the game has gotten its proper release date. The free-to-play turn-based strategy RPG is coming to iOS and Android devices on May 10.

Players can pre-register for the title on Electronic Arts’ website. Those who pre-register will unlock even more rewards.

Heroes of Middle-earth brings together various characters from the fiction (such as Frodo, Sam, Legolas, and Pippen) into an experience that can be played solo or against other players. It “[pushes] the bounds of the narrative canon” by allowing users to wield a ring that brings certain characters into battle, which is shown in the new gameplay trailer.

Heroes of Middle-earth is just one of the five The Lord of the Rings games in production. The Lord of the Rings: Gollum, The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria, Wētā Workshop’s console game are the three other known ones, but the fifth one is a mystery.
