Starz has dropped official Heels Season 2 photos ahead of the return of its wrestling drama, starring Arrow’s Stephen Amell and Vikings’ Alexander Ludwig. The photos provide fans a glimpse of what to expect in the new season as Amell’s Jack and Ludwig’s Ace continue their sibling rivalry. The next installment is slated to premiere on July 28, over a year since the conclusion of its 8-episode first season.

What to Expect in Heels Season 2?

“Season two begins after a spectacular showing at the South Georgia State Fair, and the Duffy Wrestling League’s popularity is suddenly on the upswing,” reads the logline. “Hoping to seize the opportunity, Jack and his cohorts prepare for a possible business deal with a new streaming service that may propel them onto a national stage. But the past and its tragedies threaten to upset everything when Ace leaves Duffy and the Dome in his rearview, meanwhile rival promotion Florida Wrestling Dystopia’s vengeful frontman Gully comes calling.”

Heels is written and created by Michael Waldron, with Mike O’Malley serving as the showrunner. The series tells the story about the men and women who chase their dreams in the world of small town pro wrestling,” reads the synopsis. “Set in a close-knit Georgia community, it follows a family-owned wrestling promotion as two brothers and rivals war over their late father’s legacy.

It stars Stephen Amell, Alexander Ludwig, Alison Luff, Mary McCormack, Kelli Berglund, Allen Maldonado, two-time Super Bowl champion James Harrison, AEW star CM Punk, and Chris Bauer.

Heels is executive produced by Waldron, O’Malley, Peter Segal, LBI Entertainment’s Julie Yorn, Christopher Donnelly and Patrick Walmsley. The show is produced by Lionsgate TV for Starz in association with Paramount Television Studios.
