The sequel to 2021’s Godzilla vs. Kong has received its official title and first teaser trailer, giving fans a look at the forthcoming Legendary film.

A tweet from the Godzilla vs Kong Twitter account revealed that the sequel is titled Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire and featured a teaser trailer from the upcoming movie. The trailer shows a titan sitting on a throne surrounded by bones, then zooms out to reveal the skulls of both Godzilla and Kong, each glowing with their respective color.

“This latest entry follows up the explosive showdown of Godzilla vs. Kong with an all-new cinematic adventure, pitting the almighty Kong and the fearsome Godzilla against a colossal undiscovered threat hidden within our world, challenging their very existence – and our own,” reads the movie’s synopsis. “The epic new film will delve further into the histories of these Titans, their origins, and the mysteries of Skull Island and beyond, while uncovering the mythic battle that helped forge these extraordinary beings and tied them to humankind forever.”

Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire is the sequel to 2021’s Godzilla vs. Kong, which had the two titans clash with one another. The MonsterVerse sequel is set to arrive in theaters on March 15, 2024.
