Barbie, Margot Robbie

Warner Bros. is dishing out the goodies at their CinemaCon presentation, including the first look at Margot Robbie in the upcoming Barbie movie. They also announced that the Greta Gerwig directed film will be hitting theaters on July 21, 2023. You can check out the first look at Margot Robbie as Barbie below!

The Barbie movie has quite the star-studded cast. In addition to Margot Robbie, Barbie will also star Ryan Gosling as Ken, as well as America Ferrera, Simu Liu, Kate McKinnon, Ariana Greenblatt, Will Ferrell, Issa Rae, Michael Cera, Kingsley Ben-Adir, Rhea Perlman, Emerald Fennell, and more.

The first look at the Willy Wonka prequel from Paddington writer/director Paul King starring Timothée Chalamet was also screened. Our own Chris Bumbray said that it’s a period musical comedy and that Chalamet is channelling Gene Wilder’s take on the candy maker rather than Johnny Depp’s. The audience got to see a musical number called “Have You Ever Had Chocolate Like This?” and it looks to be another heartwarming story in the same style as Paddington. Wonka is set to hit theaters on December 15, 2023.

Olivia Wilde also came out to introduce a trailer for Don’t Worry Darling, her psychological thriller starring Florence Pugh, Harry Styles, and Chris Pine. Pugh plays a housewife with Styles playing her husband, but something isn’t quite right in their little community. All the men work for something called the Victory Project, which is run by Chris Pine. Wilde teased that she feels this is Chris Pine’s best role, but even after the trailer was over, audiences weren’t quite sure exactly what mould the high-concept thriller fits into. Don’t Worry Darling will hit theaters on September 23, 2022.
