Gellar Prinze Stern

Baba Booey! Actress Sarah Michelle Gellar has called out shock jock-turned-basement hermit Howard Stern for his comments regarding an interview he did with Freddie Prinze Jr. about their relationship.

In the August 2001 interview Howard Stern Stern asked Freddie Prinze Jr., “So, you will marry Sarah Michelle Gellar even though you know that it won’t last?” He later bluntly told the actor, “It’s not gonna work for you…I wanna make a written bet with you…In about 10 years, you’re gonna hunt me down and go, ‘Howard, I owe you money.’” Eventually the two settled on a $1 million bet!

Well, Stern might owe Sarah Michelle Gellar and Freddie Prinze Jr. double that money. The couple, who met while filming teen slasher I Know What You Did Last Summer, just celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary. (For what it’s worth, the traditional 20th anniversary gemstone is emerald, but they’re probably not getting that green item either.) Stern’s words were clearly a bit of a stumble, as the couple not also has legs but has also been relatively free of tabloid controversy and has two kids.

Sarah Michelle Gellar posted an Instagram story with screenshots of Stern’s interview with her husband, writing, “I think you owe us.” (The story has since expired, so who knows if Stern actually saw it.) Hopefully Gellar’s words pick up traction.

Sarah Michelle Gellar and Freddie Prinze Jr., who were of course more prevalent as an “it” couple in the late ‘90s and early 2000s, have shared screen credits together on a number of projects. Other than the aforementioned horror flick, they co-starred in both Scooby-Doo movies (which should have totally been R-rated), as well as provided voices for Happy N’Ever After and Star Wars Rebels.

What do you think? Does Sarah Michelle Gellar have a legitimate claim? Should Howard Stern pay up? Realistically, good luck getting any money from Howard Stern. Bye for now!
