The Killer reveals its new one-sheet ahead of the world premiere at the Venice Film Festival where it will be in competition.
David Fincher reunites with his Seven screenwriter, Andrew Kevin Walker, for their new Netflix film, The Killer. The film stars Michael Fassbender, Arliss Howard, Charles Parnell, Kerry O’Malley, Sala Baker, Sophie Charlotte, and Tilda Swinton. There has not been much revealed about the project, and the only bit of footage seen thus far has been part of the compilation trailer that announces the big movie releases that Netflix will be putting out this year.
MovieWeb reports that the official one-sheet for The Killer has now been revealed. A Twitter account that follows the works of David Fincher with the handle @FincherAnalyst has tweeted out the first look at the poster as well as announcing the film being in contention at the Venice Film Festival on September 3. The Fincher Analyst posted the picture with the caption, “We Have the Exclusive First Look at the Teaser Poster for THE KILLER! The Killer is based on the French graphic novel series of the same name written by Alexis Nolent and illustrated by Luc Jacamon. The film is a much anticipated reunion of Fincher and Walker as the duo have made Seven a dark crime classic and the buzz is that this one will follow suit. Venice Film Festival chief, Alberto Barbera, is already calling the film oscar-worthy.
The details of the plot, according to MovieWeb, says, “The Killer is expected to follow the source material and follow a solitary, cold, methodical man who is unencumbered by scruples or regrets. Waiting in the shadows, watching for his next target, the longer he waits, the more he thinks he’s losing his mind, if not his cool. Described as ‘a brutal, bloody and stylish noir story of a professional assassin lost in a world without a moral compass,’ The Killer is a case study of ‘a man alone, armed to the teeth and slowly losing his mind.’”
The Killer will be released on November 10.
