Shazam! and Shazam! Fury of the Gods director David F. Sandberg has taken to Twitter to disprove a fan theory involving the existence of an alternate cut of the first movie.

Back in 2021, Sandberg tweeted that people were saying that they had seen a version of Shazam! that included a deleted scene of the Shazam Family all sitting on their own thrones in the Rock of Eternity. The director quote-tweeted his 2021 tweet earlier this week and noted that this phenomenon has come back up.

Sandberg noted that no version of Shazam! that includes that scene exists, and that though someone could try to prove him wrong, they’d be unable to. In the original tweet, the director noted that the scene was unfinished and was only ever released as a deleted scene. He then noted that he does enjoy “seeing people lose their minds over it.”

Shazam! Fury of the Gods is directed by David F. Sandberg (Annabelle: Creation) from a screenplay written by Shazam! scribe Henry Gayden. It is produced by Peter Safran. The film is now playing in theaters.
