PASSI CITY — TNT forward Dave Marcelo clocked in a time of 25.38 seconds to rule the 2023 PBA All-Star Weekend’s Obstacle Challenge here.

The 11-year veteran edged Ginebra’s Christian Standhardinger and Rain or Shine’s Beau Belga to rule the showcase that was tweaked to feature big men.

“It’s been an amazing experience,” Marcelo said shortly after his performance at City of Passi Arena that netted him P30,000 in cash prize.

“I didn’t expect to win because it’s only my first time, but I did my best to compete,” he went on.

Marcelo was the finest in a field of 12 competitors, which also featured Meralco’s Raymond Almazan.

He said in jest that he had been practicing inside his tiny hotel room.

Up next for the PBA are the 3-Point Shootout, Slam Dunk Competition, and the Greats-Stalwarts exhibition game.
