As announced last month, Spyglass Entertainment and Paramount Pictures have Scream 6 on the fast track, with the film expected to go into production this summer. Scream franchise heroine Neve Campbell is being cautious about committing to return for another sequel; at the Mad Monster horror convention she said she has been approached about doing Scream 6, but is going to read the script and see how she feels about it. While we wait to hear whether or not Campbell will be back, her Scream co-star Courteney Cox has confirmed that she has been asked to be in the new film as well.

During an interview on the Just for Variety with Marc Malkin podcast, Cox said,

I got the script yesterday. And I haven’t read it yet. I just got it, and I’m so used to getting Shining Vale scripts, which are 26 pages, and I’m like, ‘Whoa, I’ve gotta read a script.’ Anyway, I’m excited to read it. And I know they’re gonna start filming I think in June in Canada. I don’t know if I’m supposed to say everything. Let me tell you the killer!”

Cox has played author / reporter Gale Weathers in all five of the Scream movies to date.

Scream 6 is coming to us from the same creative team as this year’s Scream movie. Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett will be directing from a screenplay written by James Vanderbilt and Guy Busick. Vanderbilt is producing the film alongside his Project X Entertainment partners Paul Neinstein and William Sherak. Kevin Williamson, writer of the original Scream, serves as executive producer with Chad Villella, Gary Barber, and Peter Oillataguerre.

Given a theatrical release back in January, the latest Scream is now streaming on the Paramount Plus service, and a 4K UHD digital version can be purchased at THIS LINK. The physical media release date is April 5th, and Amazon is accepting pre-orders. The DVD can be pre-ordered HERE, you can get the Blu-ray HERE, and the 4K UHD disc is HERE. Scream (2022) will also be receiving a double feature release where it’s packaged with the original Scream from 1996. You can get the double feature on Blu-ray HERE and on 4K UHD at THIS LINK.
