Charlie Cox, Daredevil

After Daredevil was cancelled, fans weren’t sure if they’d ever see Charlie Cox as the Man Without Fear ever again, but a campaign was quickly launched to save the series. While the Netflix series may not have returned, Daredevil certainly did. Charlie Cox reprised the role in Spider-Man: No Way Home and also suited up for She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, and the actor told Marvel.com that he owes his career going forward to that passionate fan campaign.

Whatever happens to my career going forward from this point on, I owe most of it to the ‘Save Daredevil’ campaign,” Charlie Cox said. “That even when I had lost hope years ago, they did not, and they continued to campaign and support. And over the years, I’ve met many of them, and they’re such an enthusiastic, passionate crowd.

Charlie Cox will also be taking the lead in Daredevil: Born Again, a new Disney+ series that will also see the return of Vincent D’Onofrio as Kingpin. Cox told Marvel that he’s started to do some MMA training again to shake off the cobwebs. “To be invited back and starting again, almost, it feels like a little bit like a dream,” Cox said. “It feels too good to be true. I’m so excited about the future. I can’t wait to get on the set from the first day of the new show. I’m already starting to train. As you know, I’m already starting to make plans in terms of living and training and having conversations with the writers and all of those things. So it’s starting to feel very real.” Cox added that he recently got an email from a friend who had been asked to audition for a part on Daredevil: Born Again, so “it’s starting to feel very feel.”

The actor has said that he was “really emotional” reprising Daredevil for She-Hulk, but had a blast working with Tatiana Maslany. “I had a really fun time with Tatiana, and the chemistry between those two characters, the back and forth, was so much fun,” Cox said. “We got to see a new side of Matt Murdock, a side of him where he’s kind of enjoying his role and having fun and flirting.” Maslany has also expressed an interest in making an appearance on Daredevil: Born Again, which would certainly make sense given where She-Hulk left the two characters. Daredevil: Born Again will debut on Disney+ in 2024.
