Teen drama One Tree Hill had a loyal fanbase, but one person who has no interest in revisiting the show is star Chad Michael Murray, who played main character Lucas Scott on the series, which aired on The WB and The CW between 2003 and 2012.
During a panel at Christmas Con, Chad Michael Murray discussed what has undoubtedly been his biggest success–although he doesn’t necessarily keep it too close to his heart. “It’s a section of my life that I deleted. A lot of development, a lot of growth as a human being, and [I] just deleted so much of it.” Murray tried to break it down as best he could, saying, “I think we have hard drives, right? I’m probably like, you know when you get an iPhone that holds like 264 gigs: I’m down on a 32 gig phone because of old information, so booting everything up. So I think I’m deathly afraid.”
Still, Chad Michael Murray appears to have nothing but love for his former co-stars. “It’s one of those things where it’s a family…We grew up together in a lot of ways, and so you’ll enter a room like this, and I could see [Bethany] Joy [Lenz], [Hilarie Burton], or anyone from across the room, and it’s like, ‘Family!’ You can grab onto each other and feel a little bit safe, because it’s your crew.”
One Tree Hill was a Teen Choice Awards staple, with Chad Michael Murray taking home two surfboards. It even fared well after it went off the air, winning Choice Throwback TV Show five years after the series aired its last episode. Chad Michael Murray left One Tree Hill after the sixth season, reportedly due to contract disputes.
Murray has kept busy in his post-One Tree Hill career, co-starring in the Fortress movies opposite Bruce Willis, landing a major role on Agent Carter and, most curiously, playing serial killer Ted Bundy in Ted Bundy: The American Boogeyman. Murray has also been a holiday movie staple for Lifetime and Hallmark, with titles like Road to Christmas, Toying with Christmas and Angel Falls Christmas. Well that explains Christmas Con!
