While we wait to hear distribution news for the Blind (watch it HERE, read my review at THIS LINK) sequel Pretty Boy, the film’s creative team has already wrapped production on another genre project, the giallo thriller That’s a Wrap. Cerina Vincent (Cabin Fever) stars in the film, which was directed by Blind and Pretty Boy‘s Marcel Walz.
Details on the plot are being kept shrouded in mystery at this time. We do know that the screenplay for That’s a Wrap was written by Blind and Pretty Boy screenwriter Joe Knetter, along with Robert L. Lucas. Last year, it was announced that Knetter and Lucas had also been hired to co-write a zombie film called Twilight of the Dead, based on a treatment the legendary George A. Romero left behind when he passed away.
Blind and Pretty Boy star Sarah French stars in That’s a Wrap alongside Vincent, and they are joined in the cast by Monique T. Parent (Cuck) and Gigi Gustin (Fast and Fierce: Death Race).
That’s a Wrap is the first project that’s coming our way from the newly formed production company Neon Noir, which is headed up by Walz, Knetter, and French.
Walz provided Deadline with the following statement:
I’m so excited to have a colorful giallo slasher as the first movie from our own production company Neon Noir. Everyone involved in this project brought so much love and talent to the table and made the whole process from start to finish something special. I know the audience will see the love in the end product!”
Knetter added:
Since this was the first project we fully produced as Neon Noir we knew we needed to put together the right team to bring it to life. I couldn’t be prouder of the people we got to play with. They are all stars in my book and contributed greatly to making this film something we can all be proud of, both personally and professionally.”
That’s a Wrap is executive produced by Wolfpack Entertainment and Mezek Films, and was shot entirely at Wolfpack Studios in Burbank, California.
I look forward to seeing what Walz, Knetter, and French are going to bring our way through Neon Noir. I enjoyed Blind and have been anxiously waiting to see Pretty Boy. Now I’m anxiously waiting to see That’s a Wrap as well.
