Legacy action franchises seem to be the perfect target for service game crossovers regardless of whether or not the crossover makes sense. Call of Duty has had a lot of said crossovers in the past and it’s about to add more to that constantly growing list, as Activision has revealed a crossover between the Terminator series and its coveted shooter franchise.

Call of Duty and Terminator Crossover Announced

While the collaboration was teased on the Call of Duty Twitter account through a chunk of mimetic polyalloy (the same metal used to create Terminators) with the Skynet logo stamped into it, Activision detailed a portion of the Terminator cosmetics in a post describing the game’s upcoming season. Players can buy a bundle with the T-1000 advanced prototype, as seen in the above picture, as well as other limited-time bundles that have yet to be revealed. More information about these drops will come later in the season.

It’s been a few years since Skynet’s killer machines were included in a video game, but they’re no stranger to this type of corporate synergy. Arnold himself has shown up in WWE games and Mortal Kombat as the Terminator (although he didn’t voice the character in the latter), and Sarah Connor crossed over with Gears 5 to coincide with the release of Terminator: Dark Fate.

This Terminator crossover will take place as part of Season 4: Mercenaries of Fortune, which starts on June 22 inside both Warzone and Call of Duty: Vanguard. The new season brings the expected battle pass refresh, a new battle royale map called Fortune’s Keep, more Operators, additional guns, two new arenas for PVP multiplayer, a remake of a Zombies map from Call of Duty: World at War, and much more.
