Although the final season of Stranger Things is delayed, Millie Bobby Brown and David Harbour have some thoughts to share.

Stranger Things final season

The fifth and final season of Netflix’s Stranger Things, like so many other projects, has seen an indefinite delay due to the ongoing Writers Guild of America strike, since coupled with that surrounding SAG-AFTRA. As fans continue to have no choice but to slow their anticipation, some of the show’s stars have thoughts on the excitement of Stranger Things’ farewell season and the opportunities that it will offer.

Both Millie Bobby Brown, who plays Eleven, and David Harbour, who plays Jim Hopper, told separate publications about the impending final season of Stranger Things. Speaking with NME, Harbour said, “There’s something about pouring yourself into the final season…that sprint to the finish line, that is exciting and almost euphoric to me.” Meanwhile, Brown told WWD, “I think I’m ready [for the end of Stranger Things]. It’s been such a huge factor in part of my life, but it’s like graduating high school, it’s like senior year…You’re ready to go and blossom and flourish and you’re grateful for the time you’ve had, but it’s time to create your own message and live your own life.” Like his onscreen surrogate daughter, Harbour has openly expressed hope for whatever comes next.

When we last left the crew back in July 2022, the Upside Down was beginning to take over Hawkins, a foreboding cliffhanger that nicely set up what fans should expect in the final season of Stranger Things. The season earned the show 13 Primetime Emmy nominations, winning five.

As of now, we don’t know as much as we’d like about Stranger Things’ fifth and final season but we do have at least the following tidbits: the first episode will be titled “The Crawl”, Linda Hamilton has joined the cast, 10 Cloverfield Lane’s Dan Trachtenberg will helm at least one episode, and Noah Schnapp’s Will Byers will be taking “center stage”, which is fitting considering the show kicked off with his disappearance. Of course, many will be binge-watching the first four seasons – probably multiple times – until the strikes settle.
